Now I know I said around 1:40 pm day before yesterday that "we got drenched" but that was nothing compared to what we actually got one we came closer to home. The streets were waterlogged, and as usual, I was all excited about seeing so much water. Until our car suddenly stopped. And then refused to start. And there was water all around us. And then water started to seep through. So in the next few seconds, my feet were already soaked in muddy water. So finally my mom said we'd have to wade through the water to get home. So we picked up our shopping, and as I opened the car door, a rush of water swept into the car and I promptly closed the door again. Then to shouts of my sister calling me an idiot and telling me to hurry up, I braved the onslaught once again, and this time stepped into the muddy pool outside. It was nothing like anything I've done before. We were wading in knee deep muddy water and holding onto each other so as not to slip and crack our skulls. That's that, but the story doesn't end here. Fat drops of rain were hitting our heads and for some odd reason my left eye was hurting and I couldn't see anything. Somehow we waded through the dirty water, braved the hard hitting rain drops and finally got home. Shopping bags a mushy pulp, looking like we just walked out of a swimming pool, we entered the dry facilities of our home sweet home. Quite an adventure I must say. Doesn't look like I'm going to be squealing in joy the next time I see mini lakes prop up on the road when it rains.

One for the rains
Now that it is raining awesomely here in Delhi, how can I not blast music from my laptop?
So, here's my list of Top 3 Rain Songs for the here and now (under no circumstances is this list meant to be exhaustive):::
Always a nice and peppy number for the rains :) 90s FTW!
Well, maybe this isn't technically a rain song, but bhavnao ko samjho :P
Now, don't get me wrong, I like the orginal Kishore Kumar song as well, but right now, felt like listening to this :)
Enjoy!!

Raanjhanaa....
I just came back from watching Raanjhanaa.....I liked it. Let's just put one thing out there first- Dhanush might not be good looking, but he's adorable as hell, and yes, a brilliant actor, but who hasn't heard that already?
I keep thinking back to how much I loved Kolaveri Di, and all of that has to be attributed to him.
Sonam Kapoor, well, I can't say I hated her like I usually do...but there were times when I was like..does she have to always speak in that squeaky voice, and make that helpless face? As for her character, can only say she was a self-obsessed, manipulative, bitch. But yeah, she looks incredibly pretty, esp when they show her as the JNU girl.
Abhay Deol, I always like...but yeah, there were parts in the film where I felt he didn't do justice, or maybe it was the character that seemed off. I don't know.
Music, yes, I liked it. Tu Mun Shudi, has been like my favourite song for the past few days, and I keep listening to it. Raanjhanna title track (the chorus part), and Tum Tak are songs I liked as well. Another one I started liking after watching the movie was Banarasiya. Even 'Piya Milenge' was nice actually.
As for the movie, I like the way the story unfolds, the screenplay, the narration....the way the story is told basically...
I would've preferred a happier end, and I don't want to reveal anything for people who wouldn't have seen it yet, but I _did_ like the end, it's just that.....well....:| it wasn't very happy. I would like to add that the overall movie watching experience was quite nice...the colours, the backdrops, the music...it all blended well and made the whole movie ..... worth watching. :)
It's hard to imagine that the same guy directed Tanu Weds Manu, but then, you can't really box people into a genre. I always felt that movie could've been a whole lot better than it was.
Anyhow, I wanna watch other Dhanush movies now, so will try searching online :) Hopefully they'll have subtitles.
Ciao!
P.S- The kid who plays Dhanush's character in the beginning of the movie was...amazing :)

The Village
All these years in Delhi, and I visited Hauz Khaz Village for the first time today. Was a little surprised, looked so run down and chaotic. But such interesting things everywhere!! This 'He Said! She Said! Shot Bar' caught my eye. Various other things, but anyway. We went to Amour. It was nice. Didn't like the approach to the restaurant, but well, I guess some things you put up with. Now about the restaurant:
Ambience- Loved it!! Looks out over lush green, except there's a lot of kachra by the trees. Meh, Delhi.
Food- Again, loved it! Not so much the ham pizza, thought it was dry, but the lamp chops with the potato-pasta thing were lovely and juicy. The mixed grilled platter was interesting too, the vegetables were nice, the chicken was fine. The pork a little rubbery, but well....no one else complained.
Don't order the ginger ale, cause they'll give you the Shweppes one. The peach iced tea that I ordered was nice though. :)
I liked the place, would definitely recommend. :)
