Billu Barber Ki Kahani

I was sitting in the car, listening to the radio, when suddenly the song 'Rockin' and Reelin' from Billu Barber comes up on air. I don't even remember the last time I heard this song. It brought back college memories and stuff. I really like this song, it's soft and soothing. And I don't quite understand why people don't like this movie. Billu Barber is such a sweet, simple, heartwarming tale. I haven't seen the south indian original, but I've seen Billu Barber and I quite liked it. Sorry, I keep forgetting it's not Barber, just 'Billu'....:P
I think most people's problem with the film was ShahRukh Khan, but the movie is not even his! I mean he's more of a connecting link, and yeah, I guess it would've been better if he'd had less scenes, but I think he was supposed to be more of a crowd-puller. People don't come to watch movies where Irfan Khan is the hero, and that's exactly what he was. I guess SRK hogged a lotta songs, but come on, he was supposed to be this mega star, and if he's shooting a movie, there'll be item songs, and if such is incorporated into the script of the film, I see no harm done. :P

Coming back to the song, I like the way it's picturised in the film. The transition between Khuda-ya-Khair and Rockin' n Reelin' is nicely done, and it makes sense, it's not just pointless and irrelevant, or for the sake of adding a song.

I want more movies like this. :)

Now Showing: SRK Special

So I put this channel E24, while having lunch, cause I was bored and wanted to listen to some music. I need some noise when I'm eating..something to look at, etc. Anyway so I was verrrryy very pleased to find the song 'Kitabe Bahot Si' playing...Yay. I got so excited :) And then the enxt song was 'Chand Taare' from Yess Boss...This was when I realised they must be having soem SRK special kinda thing...Next up was 'Ek Suraj Nikla Tha' and 'Osaka Moraiyya'...Such nostalgic memories with these songs. The Dil Se one reminded me of this long conversation I'd had with my friend Tanya on the video of this song (on fb- lol), and the one from One Two Ka Four reminded me of when we used to listen to this song while travelling to college in the carpool, and how I used to break intot his song during some boring OB class or the other, at 9/10 am in the morning :D

This song is....so...inspiring types :) But I prefer the 'Main Koi Aisa Geeta Gaaoon' song...it's so sweet. Actually, there isn't a single song in Yess Boss that is not good. :) And the movie is so simple, cute and sweet. They should really show it on tv more often. I have this sudden urge to watch it! :D

Next was 'Koi Na Koi Chahiye' from Deewana, another song I love. My mom was like why dyou like all these old srk songs so much? I said, don't you liek the songs you listened to when you were in school, when you were a kid? She's like, No I'd rather listen to Chammak Chalo...*sigh* the long running debate between my Mom and I...I love 70s music, music from her time, she doesn't. :P Jokingly, I sometimes say, how are you my mom? LOL :D

Anyway, so the nextsong was 'Sheeshe se Sheesha Takraye' from Devadas, and then i lost interest. :P But wait, it was rebuilt with 'Chaiyya Chaiyya'...and all I could think was I so wanna dance on top of a train. Like badly, Like NOW. :D With my friends for company :) Every song has a story for me, some memory or the other. And now they were playing 'Rukiye Toh' from Yess Boss again, but my grandma has changed the channel now. I will go theee other room and continue my SRK Song Spree. :)

Happy Listening!

P.S- and now that song 'Daddy se pooch lena' frm Guddu!! :D
Ok love this one too- Khamoshiya from One Two Ka Four :)
Ok, it's over now. :( 3 o' clock tak hi tha I guess :| *sigh*.....

Actually, this video is better-

He is so good in this video^^...cute, sweet expressions, and tht energy in dance and everything else that he's doing. Pepsi ki advertising bhi acchi khaasi ki hai..hehe :D

Whirlwind Weekend

Ok I'll admit I just put that title because it's an alliteration. I have a thing for alliterations ;)
So this whole weekend has been pretty busy, I'm soo tired :)
Friday Khan- Market Cafe- nice place. There weren't too many people though, so Sha ended up beign quite loud :P Anyway ended up eating enough :P The chocolate molten volcano thing was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I would definitely recommend this place. Plus, I got a 15% student discount :P

Then, Saturday morning hadta get up early because my dad was making me attend this talk at IIC organised by the Ministry of Agriculture. It was on 'How to produce food in an increasingly hotter and more crowded world?'...Won't talk too much about the talk (cause I'm not sure I'm supposed to), but the speaker was good :) Scientist, professor at Saudi Arabia and Penn State Univ. Also, I drifted off to sleep a couple of times in the middle. *Couldn't help it* *Shrugs*
hehe
So, straight from there I headed to CP to meet my friends, and as usual I was early so was hangin around outside Wengers...I went to the nearby Archies, looked around for soem 10 mins, politely said 'No, I'm looking', and left. :P I saw all these stones there, for luck, wisdom, etc etc. :P
I saw this roadside guy sell posters. I thought of buying a print too, but I was sure it wasn't worth it, so let it be. Otherwise I have a tendency to make useless and not-so-smart purchases :P
Went to Wengers...was looking around, then thought 'hey, maybe i should get something to take home', so I called up my mom, n bought bread (farmhouse, 50 bucks :P). I really was eyeing the colourful macaroons, but then my friend called, she was somewhat lost, so I left, thinking I'll buy later so they don't melt.
We headed to this place called Zen then. Kinda expensive. Anyway, Shags and me started off ordering, cause we felt we couldn't sit and talk and wait for Dhoom forever :P. Dhoom made a grand entrance later, don't even ask about it :P...We ate soooo much, (I'd already had lunch at IIC) we thought we'd walk around for a while. Our lunch lasted for more than an hour :P...
ANyway, after all the talk, and the gossip, and the catching up, we were just aimlessly wandering around Palika. Then, I figured I hadto leave if I wanted to hitch a ride with my dad, so I got onto the metro. Had to stupidly recharge my card for a 100 bucks :P Bleh. But anyway, I gotta ride in the metro again!! It was so much fun! Gosh, it'd been so long. *wipes a tear*....Went only up to central secretariat though. There was a mix-up between the platforms me n Shags had to be at, haha :P.
Anyway, so last night was a field day for hindi movies! I watched 'Chak De!' and 'Hum Apke Hain Koun?'...got all emotional with chak de...*sniff*, and I was just thinking...Shahrukh Khan was so brilliant in this movie, as Kabir Khan...he was perfect. I mean, I can't imagine anyone else playing that role... He needs something like this again.

So this morning, I hadta get up early again...was going to watch The Artist at Mahadev Road. It was nice. I drifted off in the middle, was kinda hard to stay awake, but then I overcame the sleep and watched it properly. Not sure how much I missed thoh :P Will have to watch the beech ka part online now....It was a nice, simple movie; I like the way it's made. Plus, I like black and white and all that. Also, the concept of a silent movie actor in times where talkies became big, was good. It's very rarely that you have Tears of Joy at the end of a movie, and this was one of those rare occasions. Actor was very good, Jean du Jardin- John of the Garden. lol. The girl had some charm too :)
So, this movie got an Oscar is it? I guess it's difficult to make silent movies ....I also like the nice lil twist at the end....

On the way back home, I was just thinking how much I'd like to live in a 60s/70s movie. The song 'Zindagi Ek Safar' on the radio made me think of that. It somehow went with the wide roads and trees so characteristic of (South) Central Delhi. But well, my mom being who she is, changed it almost immediately..*sigh*....It's so ironical, our taste in music.

I had continental food at home for the first time (dinner) since I came back.
Anyway I'm tired of writing now, and have nothing more to say, so Ill be goin and watching some tv now. Cya :)

P.S- Nayak on zee cinema, Lagaan on Max. :P have to see what's coming on the english movie channels now.
P.P.S- I am deeply saddened by the fact that World Movies does not come anymore :( There goes my source fr interesting, offbeat movies :(
P.P.P.S- Ladies vs Ricky Bahl on t.v??!! :( And i wasted time watching it online..:P *sigh* it's ok only i guess :|
P.P.P.P.S- My english has become Pathetic in Calcutta.

My Name Is Natasha, and I Love SRK!

12 Feb '10

Till last night, i was glad i wasn't in Mumbai.Today, I wish I was. :) My Name Is Khan released today, and yes it DID release in Mumbai, thank heavens! I wish i was in Mumbai, so that I too could stand by SRK. Like all those brave people out there.

I am so happy today. The only time I watch the News is when SRK's on it. ;D hehe...and he's been all over the news the past week, and especially today.
I love his interviews, they're the best! He's so real, and charming and funny and witty. And his one-liners are awesome! Anyway, it was so nice to see SRK's fans in Germany...Berlin to be exact!

I'm gushing now...and so was he!! (Check out his tweets...they're awesome btw) :D :D ;D

im so obsessed. [its a bad thing.
                                  [Or Not!! :D

I'm so glad the Shiv Sena was shown what their worth is today. But they're such sore losers!
They're not willing to admit they've been defeated. (By SRK...and also by the people of Mumbai...and India!)

Today was especially revelating [check UrbanDictionary] because i discovered just how many fans SRK has and what the guys impact is. And I'm very happy/pleased that the film is doing well.
                                                                                                                          :)
