Tres Bien!

Fine, so I cheated. I used french.
I went to a spanish restaurant for dinner tonight. Spanish, not french. But I have Creative License and all that right? Right. Moving on.
So this place is called 'Tres' (now, u geddit? :D) and it' in Lodhi Colony. Decor is pretty nice and ambient. Lighting is just right, walls look pretty. Cobbled stone floors, wood panelled walls, lamps, the likes. The cutest thing though, was the cockerel on the table. Plus 1 for that :)
Cock a Doodle Doo!
Pretty Walls
Now, the food. Was Good. I ordered braised lamb in rosemary sauce with yams or some such That was the best dish of all. The lamb was cooked well, and it had this juicy taste. My dad got duck comfit with oranges. It was OK, but I found it difficult to chew. It was cooked medium-rare I think. Then my mom had ordered fried lamp and it had some white sauce. That was OK too, but not as good as the lamb. Bread basked with the condiments was fine as well. They served water which had rosemary in it I think...
And then....we had dessert. Which was amazing. Nougat Icecream with chocolate profitrole (mispelled as profit roll in the menu). It was just really really delicious. So, everything from the decor, to the menu to the dishes was good. :)

All in all- a good place- do check it out. :)

Until later!

Sometimes...

How often does it happen that you finish a book, and instead of putting it down, you turn back to the first page and start reading it all over again? Well, it doesn't happen that often, but it just did. So a little back story is required here. I'd bought this book from Bahri Sons (Khan Market) last December, it was black with shiny gold lettering, had Terry Pratchett's name on the cover, so I bought it (I think, though, technically, my sister did, but who cares about the details, right?)....and I read it while my flight to calcutta got delayed, hour after hour, and finally I reached some 8-9 hours later than originally planned, but oh well...delhi fog 'gotta love it, at-the-same-time, can't help but hate it' huh?
So anyway, this book was called Good Omens, and it' written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Neil Gaiman (which I only noticed recently (written on the cover) is the creator of Sandman) and Terry Pratchett...C'mon, who doesn't know Terry Pratchett? :P Anyway, so this book is supposed to be a comic rendition of the Apocalypse, and it's really quite funny. I wasn't Laughing Out Loud at everything..but there were some times that that did, in fact, transpire. It has these excellent one-liners...and amazing references (half of which I didn't get, I admit) and apart from it being hilariously funny, it's intelligent...and makes you think...
So much so, that at the end of the book, they have these pieces written by the authors on how they went about writing the book, and their thoughts on each other and so on, and it got me really interested to read other brilliant pieces of work by the same writers, So I'm gonna do that...when I head back to cal. I'm gonna make it my mission to try to finish at least 1 book every fortnight. It's not like I have much to do, I just waste time.
Point being, it's a good book. Pick it up. It'll brighten n otherwise dull and gloomy afternoon.
There is this one thing though....
Considering the world's about to end and all that, and I'd completely forgotten about it till a few days back, it's funny how I only finished this book now....Makes you think, it does....Hmmmmm.....

P.S- A lil more abt the book- so that I can at least carry on the pretense of this being a book review-
I liked the writing style. The narrative. And towards the middle, when things really started to pick up, and fall into place (at the same time, yes) that's when it really got interesting to read, and I couldn't put it down.
And another thing, that bit at the end....with the writer's talking and all that....it really inspired me to write (more...ok cut off more, to write at all)...So, this book ended u being special for me. :) It's a fun book.
Here's to more such! [Provided the World doesn't End and all that]
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean no harm :)

Song of the Day Season II

Btw, I'm bringing Song of the Day back, and what better song than this to start it off again? ;) ---

This needs a Title?

Watching Gangs of Wasseypur with your mom sitting by your side can be a surreal experience. Believe me. It happened to last Sunday. Both of us had already watched it earlier, so we went in after it had already started. An hour into it though, we were so engrossed, we didn't want to leave to grab dinner. We finally did, and afterwards, went in to catch the end as well. :) My mom remembered how it ended better than I did though. I actually really like the two-part film- very well made and interesting as hell.

I've been in Mussoorie with my mom the past week and it was a little weird from the last time I'd visited her during mid-career training (incidentally that was 10 years back, wow, I'm really growing ancient aren't I?) because unlike last time, my sister wasn't there, so it was somewhat strange being the only 'kid' around. I had fun though. Didn't accomplish all that I'd planned to on the short trip, but still managed to complete some of it. So I'd had these grand plans of sketching, painting, writing, honing my photography skills- things you do at hill stations...but i ended up spending most of my time- guess what? *surprise surprise*- sleeping and watching tv :) That's what happens to you when you take a break from campus life. Speaking of which, I really needed this break, cause sometimes you're surrounded by so many people that you just don't get any time for yourself, and that time with yourself is one of the most precious (and probably useful) gifts in the world. Anyway, I digress. Going back to the point, I'd thought I'd be going on long solitary walks to the town, speculating, just me and my thoughts, but like I said, I ended up being lazy and not stepping out of the room till my mom made me :P Evenings were full though, when her classes would be over, there'd be a film screening, then dinner...or a walk before that. :)

I saw this really interesting movie called Jack Casino, on American lobbyists and corruption, it was very very good. Can't remember the name of the guy who was the protagonist, but I know he's acted in quite a few other movies as well. The first day they were about to screen this one, we got to the place and discovered they were showing Silsila instead (y'know cause of Yash Chopra and all) and we ended up watching that for a while, but then my mom got so disgusted with the movie we left :P. Hehe. :)

I did end up taking several pics though...from my DSLR :D...which I'm still figuring out how to use :P But hey, some of them are pretty good, so I'll put them up sometime soon.

Ok, I;m getting kinda tired of typing, but I do have a lot more to say, so I'll be back soon :)

Ciao!

Quagmire of Thoughts

So yesterday I watched a movie and usually when I watch a movie I've formed an opinion during or atleast by the end of it. However, yesterday, after watching this movie, I was unsure. I couldn't quite say whether I liked it or not. The movie was, in fact, Ishaqzaade, and I'd been wanting to watch it for months. Now, the thing is I found a lot of the screenplay and story very random (or convenient at times). Even though it was cute, I couldn't help thinking- that is so incredibly stupid or unbelievable.

I like Parineeti Chopra a lot...ever since Ladie Vs Ricky Bahl...and I liked her in this movie as well, but her character was frankly kinda dumb. Naive and gullible actually....I don't know, the characters didn't seem to act like their personalities should. And they were not really developed too well. Some of the characters like the male protagonist's mom, could've actually been developed further.

:| I guess, maybe I'll watch it one more time....

I really liked the soundtrack though. :)

Wassup?

Hi people! It's been a while since I touched base here. But I'm really busy right now, and will give a long detailed update later. But for now, I'd like your help with something. I'm doing a project for Pond's in my internship and there are a couple of questions I need to ask consumers. So if you're a user of Pond's Cold Cream, or any other cold cream or moisturiser, feel free to fill this short and interesting survey, it'd be of immense use to me. Thanks a ton!

And keep reading! :)
:D

Billu Barber Ki Kahani

I was sitting in the car, listening to the radio, when suddenly the song 'Rockin' and Reelin' from Billu Barber comes up on air. I don't even remember the last time I heard this song. It brought back college memories and stuff. I really like this song, it's soft and soothing. And I don't quite understand why people don't like this movie. Billu Barber is such a sweet, simple, heartwarming tale. I haven't seen the south indian original, but I've seen Billu Barber and I quite liked it. Sorry, I keep forgetting it's not Barber, just 'Billu'....:P
I think most people's problem with the film was ShahRukh Khan, but the movie is not even his! I mean he's more of a connecting link, and yeah, I guess it would've been better if he'd had less scenes, but I think he was supposed to be more of a crowd-puller. People don't come to watch movies where Irfan Khan is the hero, and that's exactly what he was. I guess SRK hogged a lotta songs, but come on, he was supposed to be this mega star, and if he's shooting a movie, there'll be item songs, and if such is incorporated into the script of the film, I see no harm done. :P

Coming back to the song, I like the way it's picturised in the film. The transition between Khuda-ya-Khair and Rockin' n Reelin' is nicely done, and it makes sense, it's not just pointless and irrelevant, or for the sake of adding a song.

I want more movies like this. :)

Now Showing: SRK Special

So I put this channel E24, while having lunch, cause I was bored and wanted to listen to some music. I need some noise when I'm eating..something to look at, etc. Anyway so I was verrrryy very pleased to find the song 'Kitabe Bahot Si' playing...Yay. I got so excited :) And then the enxt song was 'Chand Taare' from Yess Boss...This was when I realised they must be having soem SRK special kinda thing...Next up was 'Ek Suraj Nikla Tha' and 'Osaka Moraiyya'...Such nostalgic memories with these songs. The Dil Se one reminded me of this long conversation I'd had with my friend Tanya on the video of this song (on fb- lol), and the one from One Two Ka Four reminded me of when we used to listen to this song while travelling to college in the carpool, and how I used to break intot his song during some boring OB class or the other, at 9/10 am in the morning :D

This song is....so...inspiring types :) But I prefer the 'Main Koi Aisa Geeta Gaaoon' song...it's so sweet. Actually, there isn't a single song in Yess Boss that is not good. :) And the movie is so simple, cute and sweet. They should really show it on tv more often. I have this sudden urge to watch it! :D

Next was 'Koi Na Koi Chahiye' from Deewana, another song I love. My mom was like why dyou like all these old srk songs so much? I said, don't you liek the songs you listened to when you were in school, when you were a kid? She's like, No I'd rather listen to Chammak Chalo...*sigh* the long running debate between my Mom and I...I love 70s music, music from her time, she doesn't. :P Jokingly, I sometimes say, how are you my mom? LOL :D

Anyway, so the nextsong was 'Sheeshe se Sheesha Takraye' from Devadas, and then i lost interest. :P But wait, it was rebuilt with 'Chaiyya Chaiyya'...and all I could think was I so wanna dance on top of a train. Like badly, Like NOW. :D With my friends for company :) Every song has a story for me, some memory or the other. And now they were playing 'Rukiye Toh' from Yess Boss again, but my grandma has changed the channel now. I will go theee other room and continue my SRK Song Spree. :)

Happy Listening!

P.S- and now that song 'Daddy se pooch lena' frm Guddu!! :D
Ok love this one too- Khamoshiya from One Two Ka Four :)
Ok, it's over now. :( 3 o' clock tak hi tha I guess :| *sigh*.....

Actually, this video is better-

He is so good in this video^^...cute, sweet expressions, and tht energy in dance and everything else that he's doing. Pepsi ki advertising bhi acchi khaasi ki hai..hehe :D

GOOOAAAALLLLL

GOAL!! on Zee Studios. Love the movie.
And they play 'What's the Story, Morning Glory' in the movie??!! How AWESOME is that?!?! :D :D

*sniff**wipes a tear* awesome movie this is. :)

I wanna watch Goal 2 too someday.

Love Zizou, Love Gerrard. :)
And obv, Love Santiago.

Also Gavin Harris somewhat :P

but yeah, liek i always say- "I heart Santiago"

I <3 Santiago :)

They should make movies like this these days....

Whirlwind Weekend

Ok I'll admit I just put that title because it's an alliteration. I have a thing for alliterations ;)
So this whole weekend has been pretty busy, I'm soo tired :)
Friday Khan- Market Cafe- nice place. There weren't too many people though, so Sha ended up beign quite loud :P Anyway ended up eating enough :P The chocolate molten volcano thing was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I would definitely recommend this place. Plus, I got a 15% student discount :P

Then, Saturday morning hadta get up early because my dad was making me attend this talk at IIC organised by the Ministry of Agriculture. It was on 'How to produce food in an increasingly hotter and more crowded world?'...Won't talk too much about the talk (cause I'm not sure I'm supposed to), but the speaker was good :) Scientist, professor at Saudi Arabia and Penn State Univ. Also, I drifted off to sleep a couple of times in the middle. *Couldn't help it* *Shrugs*
hehe
So, straight from there I headed to CP to meet my friends, and as usual I was early so was hangin around outside Wengers...I went to the nearby Archies, looked around for soem 10 mins, politely said 'No, I'm looking', and left. :P I saw all these stones there, for luck, wisdom, etc etc. :P
I saw this roadside guy sell posters. I thought of buying a print too, but I was sure it wasn't worth it, so let it be. Otherwise I have a tendency to make useless and not-so-smart purchases :P
Went to Wengers...was looking around, then thought 'hey, maybe i should get something to take home', so I called up my mom, n bought bread (farmhouse, 50 bucks :P). I really was eyeing the colourful macaroons, but then my friend called, she was somewhat lost, so I left, thinking I'll buy later so they don't melt.
We headed to this place called Zen then. Kinda expensive. Anyway, Shags and me started off ordering, cause we felt we couldn't sit and talk and wait for Dhoom forever :P. Dhoom made a grand entrance later, don't even ask about it :P...We ate soooo much, (I'd already had lunch at IIC) we thought we'd walk around for a while. Our lunch lasted for more than an hour :P...
ANyway, after all the talk, and the gossip, and the catching up, we were just aimlessly wandering around Palika. Then, I figured I hadto leave if I wanted to hitch a ride with my dad, so I got onto the metro. Had to stupidly recharge my card for a 100 bucks :P Bleh. But anyway, I gotta ride in the metro again!! It was so much fun! Gosh, it'd been so long. *wipes a tear*....Went only up to central secretariat though. There was a mix-up between the platforms me n Shags had to be at, haha :P.
Anyway, so last night was a field day for hindi movies! I watched 'Chak De!' and 'Hum Apke Hain Koun?'...got all emotional with chak de...*sniff*, and I was just thinking...Shahrukh Khan was so brilliant in this movie, as Kabir Khan...he was perfect. I mean, I can't imagine anyone else playing that role... He needs something like this again.

So this morning, I hadta get up early again...was going to watch The Artist at Mahadev Road. It was nice. I drifted off in the middle, was kinda hard to stay awake, but then I overcame the sleep and watched it properly. Not sure how much I missed thoh :P Will have to watch the beech ka part online now....It was a nice, simple movie; I like the way it's made. Plus, I like black and white and all that. Also, the concept of a silent movie actor in times where talkies became big, was good. It's very rarely that you have Tears of Joy at the end of a movie, and this was one of those rare occasions. Actor was very good, Jean du Jardin- John of the Garden. lol. The girl had some charm too :)
So, this movie got an Oscar is it? I guess it's difficult to make silent movies ....I also like the nice lil twist at the end....

On the way back home, I was just thinking how much I'd like to live in a 60s/70s movie. The song 'Zindagi Ek Safar' on the radio made me think of that. It somehow went with the wide roads and trees so characteristic of (South) Central Delhi. But well, my mom being who she is, changed it almost immediately..*sigh*....It's so ironical, our taste in music.

I had continental food at home for the first time (dinner) since I came back.
Anyway I'm tired of writing now, and have nothing more to say, so Ill be goin and watching some tv now. Cya :)

P.S- Nayak on zee cinema, Lagaan on Max. :P have to see what's coming on the english movie channels now.
P.P.S- I am deeply saddened by the fact that World Movies does not come anymore :( There goes my source fr interesting, offbeat movies :(
P.P.P.S- Ladies vs Ricky Bahl on t.v??!! :( And i wasted time watching it online..:P *sigh* it's ok only i guess :|
P.P.P.P.S- My english has become Pathetic in Calcutta.

Pyaar Ki Pungi

The song needs some getting use to.
I like it now :)
Nice lyrics

And yes the original ke saath resemblance is quite a bit.

Sometimes Movies Surprise You

I just finished watching Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu....
My friends had told me it was like Jab We Met, except the end was different. And random.
So first things first, I liked it. Yes. It was...Refreshing.

Imran Khan is quite cute :) and very...well subtle I guess. Normal. Average like he's supposed to be. I think he's improved from when I last saw a movie of his. Though his characters always seem to be very similar. :P Oh well.

Now, as for the Jab We Met thing, I guess you could say Kareena Kapoor's character is very similar...But much more toned down, and I like that. More mature I guess, plus the setting is different, so this is more appropriate.

Ok at this point I should probably say something about the plot of this movie. So here's this guy whose always led a structured life, done what his parents asked him to, never been good enough....He doesn't have the guts to speak up and he's very likeable so you feel sorry for him. He's also quite anal. :P
Then comes Rihanna, Kareena Kapoor. She's fun, spunky, chilled out...and not anal. Anyway so they get drunk and get married at a chapel in Las Vegas. Then, comes the "difficult" part, how to break it to her that he wants to anull the marriage. Thankfully he doesn't have to, cause she's thinking the same. :) They fight and all at first, but then they become good friends and help each other out.

Problem is, he falls in love with her, makes an advance, she gets creeped out. Uh-oh. He accuses her of leading him on, and they have a fight. Sad (nice) song follows.
And now by telling you what happens next would reveal how the movie ends :P

Now songs are nice. I like the title song, it has a nice beat and music. Quite catchy. :)
Now 'Auntie Ji' I didn't like at first, I thought what a weird song. But I like how it starts, nice beat. And guitar, drums. Nice music actually. It's catchy. And was quite funny. I like :)

Now there's this one scene I really like in the movie. The one where he puts on her iPod and 'Koi Mil Gaya' from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starts playing. And suddenly he breaks into an impromptu dance. It's very cute. The scene would probably be my favourite part of the whole movie.
Now, the other scene I really like was at the end- the dinner table one. And spoiler alert for people who haven't watched this movie- Don't read this! :P The scene where he just loses his cool and finally says all that he wants to say. The expression of the kid sitting opposite him is priceless, because the kid goes through pretty much the same deal...And I like how this scene wasn't overtly dramatic. Clean, simple, cut to the point.

Then I like the fact that they still remain friends. And also that he doesn't stop loving her. That clinched the deal for me I think. That there's still hope. That he believes that there's still hope. And no tears, no melodrama, no moping around. Simple, pure, sweet. It was refreshing. The end just won me over :)

And Oh yeah, someone explain to me why the second 'ek' is spelt like 'ekk' :P Numerology issues I guess. :P Bleh. Lol. Dono ko hi kar dete. But then one extra K. :P Or One less wuldn;t have done either. :P Tch tch, Karan Johar....

P.S- I heard this RJ say that Kareena Kapoor looks liek an Auntie in this movie. I disagree :P. She looks awesome :)

Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright

Today is World Poetry Day.
So I though I's share some of my favorite poems.
I love Robert Frost. I read this one in my English Reader in 6th, and I thought it was...so cool. It made me think. :)

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Robert Frost
Then there's this one I read in 7th-

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost
And this in 12th-
A ROADSIDE STAND

The little old house was out with a little new shed
In front at the edge of the road where the traffic sped,
A roadside stand that too pathetically plead,
It would not be fair to say for a dole of bread,
But for some of the money, the cash, whose flow supports
The flower of cities from sinking and withering faint.
The polished traffic passed with a mind ahead,
Or if ever aside a moment, then out of sorts
At having the landscape marred with the artless paint
Of signs that with N turned wrong and S turned wrong

Offered for sale wild berries in wooden quarts,
Or crook-necked golden squash with silver warts,
Or beauty rest in a beautiful mountain scene.
You have the money, but if you want to be mean,
Why keep your money (this crossly), and go along.
The hurt to the scenery wouldn't be my complaint
So much as the trusting sorrow of what is unsaid:
Here far from the city we make our roadside stand
And ask for some city money to feel in hand
To try if it will not make our being expand,
And give us the life of the moving pictures' promise
That the party in power is said to be keeping from us.

It is in the news that all these pitiful kin
Are to be bought out and mercifully gathered in
To live in villages next to the theatre and store
At the shiny desert with spots of gloom
That might be people and are but cedar,
Have no purpose, have no leader,
Have never made the first move to assemble,
And so are nothing to make her tremble.
She can think of places that are not thus
Without indulging a 'Not for us!”
Life is not so sinister-grave.
Matter of fact has made them brave.

He is husband, she is wife.
She fears not him, they fear not life.
They know where another light has been
And more than one to theirs akin,
But earlier out for bed tonight,
So lost on me in my surface flight.
This I saw when waking late,
Going by at a railroad rate,
Looking through wreaths of engine smoke
Far into the lives of other folk.

Sunday 18 March 2012

And I'm Back

*Sigh* What a day it has been. It's been over a week (a week and two days) into my holidays, and I don't think I've done half the things I want to in this one month. I was just waiting for things to quiet down and get relaxed (after my sister's wedding and relatives in the house and all that) to start off. But now I think I should really get going, there's not much time left. And then the Internship starts. So then, Work, Work, Work after that. :|
Anway so i watched Jodibreakers today. Was kindof a random movie. It could have been soooo much better. It had its moments though. As in there were some scenes that were very good and refreshing. Jokes (in the beginning especially) were too explicit though, so kind of weird to watch with your mom n all :P hehe. Anyway, so it had some really terrible (but somewhat catchy some of them were) songs, and too many songs. It was just too long, had quite a few irrelevant scenes. It could have easily been shorter, and better. Snappier, with slicker editing. And really, some of those songs....why were they even there? Do we really require so many fillers? Just make a short simple movie na.

So. Yeah. That's that. I then went to the Jazz Festival (finally) at Nehru Park. Music in the Park. It's been going on since friday, and friday night I found out. Have been wanting to go since then. Though I think the jazz concert I went to in Ballygunge, Calcutta was better....This was sortof sedate for my taste. I like saxophones, upbeat, loud numbers. :) Anyway, so I came back and had Chaat for dinner (yay!). Mom insisted on dropping and picking me up from Nehru Park because 'Delhi is an unsafe place'. :P
Anyway yeah, so it was fun. Yesterday I'd gone to Khan Market :) Have been there twice now. In the same week. Kal I had Very Berry Ice Tea from CCD. Too sweet :P....And a few days back (wed i think) I'd bought  a book from Bahri Sons- Persepolis. :) It's quite nice :)

SO anyway, I checked my mail after dinner and realised I hadto make the changes that people had asked me to int he article that I'm supposed to be putting up next for The Marketers. So was doing that till now. Research and stuff :P *sigh*
I'm so tired...I feel like I've earned my sleep today. Not like I'll be sleeping any time soon. Naah, no chance :P

l'll start going to the gym from tomorrow. Yay. :D And maybe I should start going everyday instead of every alternate day.
My back hurts because I've been stand straight all day and not hunch and stuff :P. It's difficult. I wonder why I never made this my new year resolution.

I really watch watch a coupla movies I've missed out on in the last few months like Ek Main Aur Ek Tu (surprisingly my sister liked it), Agneepath, Dirty Picture, Shaitan (ok, that's wayyy earlier than few months back :P), etc.
And I just can't wait for Agent Vinod *fingers crossed*. I've been hearing about it and waiting for it for soo long now. :)

So I'll go now. Watch some tv or something. Will be back with more :)

Promise to be regular with this.
Ciao.

Le Coromandel Coast

I was wiki-ing this...no special reason...coromandel comes from Cholamandalam. Here's a poem about the Coromandel coast...

In a room of the palace
Black Mrs. Behemoth
Gave way to wroth
And the wildest malice.
Cried Mrs. Behemoth,
‘Come, come,
Come, court lady,
Doomed like a moth,
Through palace rooms shady!
The candle flame
Seemed a yellow pompion,
Sharp as a scorpion
Nobody came . . .
Only a bugbear
Air unkind,
That bud furred papoose,
The young spring wind,
Blew out the candle.
Where is it gone?
To flat Coromandel
Rolling on!

- Dame Edith Sitwell

and there's another by Walter J. Tuner called 'Coromandel' which I can't find :| . It was hard enough to locate the one above....:)
But here's one by Sarojni Naidu which i found instead--->

Coromandel Fishers

Rise, brothers, rise; the wakening skies pray to the morning light,
The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like a child that has cried all night.
Come, let us gather our nets from the shore and set our catamarans free,
To capture the leaping wealth of the tide, for we are the kings of the sea!

No longer delay, let us hasten away in the track of the sea gull's call,
The sea is our mother, the cloud is our brother, the waves are our comrades all.
What though we toss at the fall of the sun where the hand of the sea-god drives?
He who holds the storm by the hair, will hide in his breast our lives.

Sweet is the shade of the cocoanut glade, and the scent of the mango grove,
And sweet are the sands at the full o' the moon with the sound of the voices we love;
But sweeter, O brothers, the kiss of the spray and the dance of the wild foam's glee;
Row, brothers, row to the edge of the verge, where the low sky mates with the sea.

Anyway, so its pretty surprising that the coromandel coast has featured in literature so much over the years. There's a book by Lear as well. :)
Anyway, so I have to get up early tomorrow, (watchin a movie and all that) so I'll be going now.
Cya :)
